Paanch Pokhari Trekking is one of the hidden valley trekking of Nepal. This trek brings us closer to the holy ponds of the Paanch Pokhari. The team of the Gangajamuna Treks will take you on a journey in the Paanch Pokhari to get your religious side pumped for the exploration of the Bhairab Kunda and its surrounding ponds.

Also known as the Bhairab Kunda Trekking, the Paanch Pokhari Trekking starts with a sightseeing day in the Kathmandu Valley. We will be exploring the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and the Swoyambhunath temples with a fully experienced guide. Then, we will be driving to the village of Bhotang. The road is risky and bumpy. After that, we will start our trek through the villages of Chaurigoth, Nosempati and Laure Bhanjhyang to get to our destination. Along the way, we will be able to enjoy the landscape views of the Jugal, Phurbi Chhhyachu, Lakpa Dorje and several other unnamed peaks.

Bhairab Kunda Trek can be made longer or shorter according to your timeline. If you want no changes in our package, the trek can be completed in 9 days. The fitness level needed for this trek is moderate to strenuous.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu TIA (1350m). Overnight at tea houseOne of our representatives will pick you up at the airport and guide you to your hotel room. Freshen up and explore the surroundings during the day. In the evening, you will be having a typical Nepali food. You will also be briefed about the trek today. Overnight at hotel

Day 02Sightseeing in Kathmandu. Overnight at tea house Today, we will be travelling to four of the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley. We will explore the temples of Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath and Boudhanath. We will also visit the royal palace of Kathmandu Durbar Square, built during the Rana regime. In the evening, we will prepare for the trip. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Bhotang (9-10 hours). Overnight at tea house We will have an early breakfast today as the day is a bit longer than other days. Today, we will drive to a village called Bhotang. In the beginning, we will drive from Kathmandu to Sankhu and then to Malamchi. It will take us about 3 to 4 hours to get to Melamchi. The road is bumpy and risky. From there, we will again drive until we arrive at the village of Bhotang. The drive will be treacherous as the roads are a lot bumpier and riskier. Overnight at Bhotang

Day 04Bhotang to Nosempati (6-7 hours). Overnight at tea house We will get out of the village of Bhotang and walk up along the river to get to Deurali within 3 hours. From there, we will ascent uphill over the stone steps to get to the village of Chaurigoth. We will be having lunch here. After lunch, we will climb uphill until we arrive at the village of Nosempati. We will be able to see the Rolwaling peak and several other unnamed peaks from here. Overnight at tea house.

Day 05Nosempati to Paanch Pokhari (7-8 hours). Overnight at tea house Climb out of the village of Nosempati to get to Laure Bhanjhyang. The trail is all uphill. We will rest here for a bit and again start the strenuous journey to get to the mighty Paanch Pokhari. Overnight at tea house.

Day 06Exploration Day. Overnight at tea house Today, we will explore the ponds of the Paanch Pokhari. As the name suggests, there are 5 Ponds in this area. We will be able to see 3 of the ponds here. All of the ponds are crystal clear blue lakes. We will be able to have landscape views of the Phurbi Chhhyachu, Lakpa Dorje and Jugal peaks. Overnight at Paanch Pokhari.

Day 07Paanch Pokhari to Bhotang. Overnight at tea house We will get out of the Paanch Pokhari and climb down to Laure Bhanjhyang. From there, we will continuously trek downwards to get through the village of Nosempati, Tangu and then to Bhotang. Overnight at tea house

Day 08Drive back from Bhotang to Kathmandu (9-10 hours). Overnight at hotel. We will get back through the risky and bumpy road to get to Melamchi. From there, we will get back through the Sankhu Melamchi road to get back to the capital city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09Final Departure One of our representatives will guide you to the international airport
